David Cannon appointed as itSMF International Chair

The new itSMF International Executive Board (IEB) met today in the itSMF UK Offices in England UK, and elected David Cannon as a itSMF International Chair with immediate effect. David Cannon is a former President of the USA Chapter and founding member of the South African Chapter of itSMF. The itSMF IEB members and their allocated Portfolios moving forwards are:

The new itSMFI Chair, David Cannon, is internationally recognized as a leader in IT Service Management.  He has more than 15 years experience in IT Service Management and is a Fellow of the Institute of Service Management - the highest level of professional achievement in this field.

David has provided training and consulting services to virtually every industry sector and at every level of management. He was also a key figure in establishing the IT Service Management industry in South Africa and the USA, both by establishing successful businesses and through his involvement in the itSMF. He has also participated in the ongoing development of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF), and most recently, he has co-authored the Service Operation book for ITIL v3. David's current role is an ITSM Practice Principal within Hewlett-Packard, where he is responsible for establishing, building and supporting IT Service Management practices in Asia, the USA and Latin America.

David attended the itSMF Serbia Launch Conference in Belgrade, back in December 2008, and since then has been providing continuous support to our Chapter. We are wishing David every success in his new role.
